One interesting fact from Barks is that in "Terror of the River"
(1946) Donald and the boys travel 2400 miles to get to Floodout, Ohio.

E.g., the Swedish translators have sometimes tried to hide the fact
that the stories take place in the USA.  So for instance when Donald's
become a tightrope walker (WDC 49, from 1944):

 Donald: Pack our grips, boys!  We're headin' for Buffalo, New York!
 The boys: Buffalo, New York!  What're you gonna do there?
 Donald: I'm gonna walk a tight wire across Niagara falls!

"Buffalo, New York" is changed into just "America" in the Swedish
translation.
