An updated list of the changed/censored stories

	Dear Folks (and especially Harry),

	Here's an updated version of that list of changed/censored
stories.  I've added a bit of information about the stories you
already had, too.

	BTW:  Is the version of "Bongo on the Congo" in USA 3 censored
just like the later reprinting (1 year later) in the CBL?

	Anyway...

	* * * * *

  Four Color 238, Voodoo Hoodoo: natives censored, zombie's nose changed.
           Uncensored version appeared in Europe.

  Four Color 256, Luck of the North: Eskimos' dialogue rewritten
           slightly in Gladstone Giant Album 2 (status in CBL II unknown)

  Four Color xxx, Land of the Totem Poles: Indians' dialogue
           rewritten in DD 278 printing (status in CBL II unknown?)

  Uncle Scrooge 13, Land Beneath the Ground:  Missing art restored;
           two captions changed to bridge gaps left by still-missing
           art (in Gladstone Album 6; CBL status unknown).

  Uncle Scrooge 29, Island in the Sky: in various places -- "Apache"
           changed to "alien", "Mohawk" changed to "Savage." Caption: 
           "They kneel like the American savages kneeled to Columbus!"
           changed to "ancient" savages and "explorers".  "How" 
           changed to "Howdy" in one panel.  In US 269.  Status of the
           story in CBL unknown?

  Uncle Scrooge 33 (2nd), Bongo on the Congo: natives changed on page 
           7 and 8 in CBL (status in USA 3 unknown?)

  Uncle Scrooge xx, How Green Was My Lettuce:  Missing art restored; a
           figure of Scrooge added in silhouette to one panel and two new
           inserted panels by Don Rosa (to bridge additional 
           still-missing art) in US 241.

  Walt Disney's C&S 87, The Terrible Turkey: The word "eagle" has been
           changed to "giant quail" on page 10 of the story in WDC&S
           579 reprint; CBL reprints unchanged.

  Walt Disney's C&S 127, The April Foolers: Title of book in trash
           heap "Mein Kampf" removed in WDC&S 560; unchanged in CBL.

  Walt Disney's C&S 159, Will-o'-the-Wisp: Scrooge's top hat has been
           redrawn in the first panel, and a title "Book of Devious 
           Strategems" has been added to a book on a later page, in
           the WDC&S 566 reprint.  CBL reprints unchanged.

  Walt Disney's C&S xxx, Submarine Santa: Sign has been added to
           shopfront on page 1 splash panel in WDC&S 568.

  Walt Disney's C&S 186, Olympic Team Try-Outs: Donald's winning cup
           has been changed to a medal in WDC&S 575 and dialogue changed
           appropriately;  some of audience's boos deleted;  reference to
           "unfriendly" countries changed to "other" countries, and 
           Olympic slogan "it is not to win, but to *try* that is 
           important" has been changed somewhat (this is indeed an
           Olympic slogan, but Barks originally had it slightly wrong)
           and relettered.  (Status of CBL version unknown?)

  B&G March Of Comics 20, Darkest Africa: natives (cannibals) changed; one
           panel missing. The story has been reinked, page 1-5 and 10
           by Daan Jippes, the other pages by Dutch artist Dick Vlottes.

  Cheerio Giveaway, Atom Bomb: Mostly reinked by Daan Jippes; a few
           original Barks panels re-inserted in American printings.
           Cash register and money removed on last panel.

  Firestone Giveaway '46, Santa's Stormy Visit: reinked by Egmont. 

  B&G March Of Comics 41, Race to the South Seas: reinked by Daan
           Jippes.  Name of Donald's boat accidentally left in Dutch
           ('KWAAK') in CBL, but restored in Disney DDA 26.  Name on 
           newspaper, 'Dagobert McDuck,' left unchanged from Dutch in 
           both reprints.

  Southern Pacific Giveaway, Donald Tells About Kites: restored.

  Four Color 29 (3rd), Too Many Pets: restored.


  The inked versions by Daan Jippes were done in 1974, 1975 for 
Oberon, the Dutch Disney editor. When the CBL and others used these
stories, they replaced the Dutch dialogue with the original American text
(a mixture of Xerox copies and reletterings).

  We are sure our list is not complete. We hope that an original
version of the stories above will appear somewhere, sometime.

	Is this okay?  Note that I can't remember the number of two or
three issues... this seems like a good idea for a new list to put on
ftp, but it would be a good idea to restore the numbers first.
