I picked up a copy of "Hearts of the Yukon" last week, and although the
cover art was beautiful, the newsprint material it was made from was
awful. The brilliant colors that Don's covers are famous for came
through dull. It is interesting to compare this cover to US 292, which
has a similar composition. God, what a differnece, and what a shame!

In the "Cross-Talk" column, Gladstone mentioned that they may decide
to go with this new format with all of their titles!

"Hearts of the Yukon" was very well done. I especially liked the last
two panels that showed opposite perspectives of the same scene, one
from Goldie's window looking out to Scrooge's location on the distant
snow covered hill, and the other from Scrooge's spot on the hill
looking back to the town, to Goldie's window. Both panels were well
connected.

Also of note in this story was the melodramatic face-down between
Scrooge and Goldie in the burning saloon. In reading and viewing this
slowly, you can almost hear the low bass notes and impact of a movie
score bellowing out the drama. I found myself holding my breath as I
read this part.

All in all, I loved it!
