Spoiler Warning (- Just in case)

If not seen Carl Barks' & Jack Hannahs "Donald Duck
Finds Pirate Cold" (W OS 9-02, 1942) the reader is
adviced to rethink of reading this message any further.

I noticed there's a funny connection between the Pirate
Gold story with one story Paul Murry draw in the early
1960's.

In Murry's "Clipper Ship Caper" (W MM 77-01) Black
Pete is having very same costume than in Pirate Cold
story. If you look at these scanns you'll understand
better:

Murry's story is far from a direct remake. Smugglers
using a submarine - but Pete's clothing and characters
eventually being in a large sail boat sounds familiar
just like one action scene from the end. By looking at
this scann you might have an other "deja vu experience":

What was this all about? Perhaps some kind of practical
joke for Barks' 60th anniversary? Murry's story was
published in Mickey Mouse #77 in April 1961 right after
Barks 60th birthday in March the 27th.
