Sure. Why do you ask? I don't think that has a relation to what I was saying
to Dan?

Note that Barks also used Dumbo, Zeke Wolf and Br'er Fox. I don't think that
makes them "more serious" characters.
Yes, Barks did not write the stories with these characters, he only drew
them. But he didn't write the appearance of Von Drake himself either.
Sure, Von Drake exists, if you want. But not solely because Barks used him
once in a gag that he didn't write.
