'Lectro Box (for Bob Foster) / Sci-Fi (Kathy)

Hello everybody!

A question for Bob Foster, first...

I'm referring to a Gottfredson/Walsh story, "Mickey Mouse and the
'Lectro Box" (YM 058), which saw in the original publication, in
the very last panel, the three scientists left in their underpants
by the effect of the Box...

The scene was censored for the first comic book reprint, WDC 51-55,
with trousers superimposed (or drawn over?) the original, and that's,
unfortunately, the version most of us read, since it was used for
most (if not all) later reprints in various countries.

Now, in a relatively recent reprint, WDC 568-572, the final panel
was partially restored, and I understand that was your own work...

I'm curious about how it was done... did you find an original,
uncensored image or did you, or some other artist, actually
redraw it ? And why only one scientist instead of all three ?

Then, a bit of S/F off-topic... :-)

Kathy says...

>The first Sci-Fi book I read that got me started was "Mindswap", can never
>remember the author, don't think he wrote anything else.

Would said mindswap be a novel and fashionable form of vacation ?
With the hero finding himself unable to get back to his own body
afterwards, thus starting a long quest, and series of adventures,
in various alien bodies on various alien planets ?

If that's the case, the author's Robert Sheckley, and he did write
something else, quite a lot of it, in fact... my advice is go to
the nearest bookshop and find out what... ;-) He's one of my
all-time favorites, indeed...

Cheers
