Euro-Disney comics Rennaisance

I want to point out that Italian Disney comics were not the only high-quality
European new comic productions in the 1970s and 1980s. Oberon's (Dutch
Disney's) stories drawn by Daan Jippes, Freddy Milton, Ben Verhagen, Jan
Gulbransson, Michel Nadorp, Volker Reiche, Marc deJonge, Jules Coenen,Mau
Heymans and others set a very high quality standard. Also, I believe Egmont
produced a fair amount of high-quality stories in the 1970s - and certainly in
the 1980s. The latter may not have been a high percentage of all produced, but
their sheer volume of production ensured many decent, worthwhile stories.

Burbank may be a real city in California, but Donald's and Scrooge's only
connection with California were a few short visits as vacationing tourists.
Barks' Burbank, Glendale and corner of Wilshire and Vermont were NOT in
Southern California and the Los Angeles Area! They were in CALISOTA!!!-and the
DUCKBURG regional area! Barks never mentioned the Ducks living in California.
Burbank and Glendale were either suburbs of Duckburg, or small towns in Duck
County, or nearby Squawbunion, Webfoot, Squash or Goose Egg Counties!

Shelly is interested in finding out if there is any English language
publication of Egmont produced Disney comics. Can David G., Joakim, or any
other DCML member furnish any information?
