Wittal?

On November 29th last year I received the following message. There is no 
"Wittal" or likewise in Inducks, but perhaps the name rings a bell to 
some of you:

I have a friend that has a plate that was painted in 1950 with 3 Disney
characters as a gift and it is signed Wittal.  Do you know who the
artist would be?  I am trying to find out if this person is a disney
artist or not.  Thank you for your time.
