Hello!
Barks' Notre Duck clearly refers to the French "Notre Dame", as Barks
himself told during his journey in Europe, in 1994.
Moreovere, the name "Notre" (written like this, without the "normal" accent)
is an exception, which fits with that cathedral and not with others, more
generic ones.

Obviously. It's a sort of Pagan church. Maybe the Barks' idea about the
Catholic Church (and about any organized "western" Church, generally), where
money seems to be more relevant than sincere religion, personal feelings.
