 A really interesting news, from the italian convention "Lucca Comics &
Games 2002".
Disney Italia has published the fifth volume of "Tesori" which presents some
rare stories by Barks:

DD in "Darkest Africa" (W MOC 20-01), with an article by L. Boschi;

DD in "Forbidden Valley" (W DD 54-01), with an article by A. Becattini;

HDL the JW in "Eagle savers" (H 99044) [drawings by Jippes];

DD in "Race to the South Seas!" (W MOC 41-01).

"Darkest Africa" is published in English and Italian, the other three
stories in Italian only.

Hardcovered edition, 128 pages, 15 euro. A softcover edition will probably
hit the stands in the next weeks, with lesser price (about 9-10 euro ?)

"Darkest Africa" is published in the uncensored form, with sharp teeth and
big lips cannibals... It isn't the Jippes/Vlottes version but the original
one by Barks. The reproduction quality is pretty good but not perfect
because - as said in the introductory article - originals are practically
lost and publishers have to deal with photocopies and old comics
only.Comparing with a 1952 italian edition I've noted that little details
and thin hatches sometimes aren't clearly printed; unluckily in that very
same edition there are a lot of little cuts to fit the pages and so that
comic is unsuitable for a good reproduction.

Anyway, the general look of this new edition is great! Enjoy!
