the character is "Bear Mountain" and "Spirit of 43" is a typical of the 
time,  USA Scottish stereotype with a duck instead of a man.   If Barks had 
kept Scrooge like that, we wouldnt be talking about Scrooge ----
         it wouldnt surprise me, if scottish stereotyped ducks wont be found 
even earlier than 42 - 43 in cartoons or children's books...
