I can only think of some instances where they look direct into the readers 
face and/or adress some lines to him/her. (This seems to occur mostly at the 
end of a story).

Another example my be Don Rosa's "Island at the edge of time" where Scrooge 
is "on edge" (annoyed) himself by the invisible "storyteller" in the last 
panel.
