8134 m/s = 29.282 km/h

So it is really _not_ necessary to dig the hole out on the other side as
well: Even at the "moderate" speed of 8 km/sec the ducks would long have
been burned to ashes by air friction before they could be flattened at
the center of the earth. Roasted, flattened duck. Must think happy
thoughts...
