Brigitta's first appearance was in "The

last balaboo" - I also have the Gladstone version, which came with an article

that presents it as being so, but the story hints that they ($crooge+Brigitta)HAVE known

each other for a long time (since before the date that he gave her

the balaboo hat).

It's the fact that $crooge reacts to her like a villain and yet may be smitten with

her that is interesting. Why HE WOULD

be so smitten and have mixed feelings is not explianed.

She (Brigitta) seems like the only female character, besides Magica de Spell and Miss

Quackfaster,

who appears regularly in the $crooge stories and lives in the present. I don't really

think she was intended to be a villain, but more of a romantic foil, like an "anti-Magica" -

what a "good" counterpart to Magica would be like, her opposite. She doesn't use

magic (or maybe she has, I don't know), is persistant, has an exotic name, wears bright clothes, has blond hair,

and

doesn't wish any real ill will to happen to $crooge.
