In 1997 they acquired the modern Disney license
earlier held by Marvel Comics.
It is said they will produce digest sized comic books, reprinting
stories from Europe.
Exactly where the line goes between the traditional
and the
modern
seems to be a little unclear.
It is generally taken that the former
encompasses all past and present print incarnations of
Donald Duck, Uncle Scrooge, Mickey Mouse
and their supporting casts, while the latter covers
anything Disney's cooked up since 1985. As you might imagine, this leaves a
rather large number of gray areas, such as DuckTales, Quack Pak, the Mickey
TV series now in the works, and animated Disney features films prior to
1985.
