I also want to point out something about the situation with Marvel, which
doesn't relate to Don Rosa at all.  If Marvel and DC had actually bought
the rights to the artwork and not just to reproduce it, they would have
owed New York State a fortune in sales tax for all the art.  Apparently,
buying reproduction rights didn't get taxed but buying original art did.

This was one of the main reasons that Marvel and DC started returning
art on a regular basis.
