Darkest Africa redrawn pages

        Dear Folks,

        Harry said, "Daan Jippes started the re-inking [of Barks' 1948 "In
Darkest Africa," the proofs to which were lost] in about 1980. He did
the first 4 pages (and a few more, according to David Gerstein, who can
actually see the difference between Vlottes' and Jippes' inking style!)."

        Gawrsh, thanks fer thuh complyment!  Actually, the Jippes pages are
1-5 and 10.  It would seem strange that page 10, and not pages 6-9, is
Jippes' work, but page 10 has close-ups which have a gentle, textured line
that is very unlike Vlottes' thicker lines (as evident on page 22 for
instance).

        Maybe we oughtta put this in the FAQ.  Rev your jatos, James!
