I'm surprised that you don't know this, Don.  I'm from Kentucky just like
you and I've been familiar with the phrase as long as I can remember.  [1]
A "nosey-parker" is just someone who's nosey--overly curious, prying.

(Next time I'm in Louisville, c'n I get some books signed?  Pretty please?)
