      Dear Folks,

A few weeks ago (in the above-listed digest) I mentioned the
DD/Goofy story by Pat Block appearing in DDA 30 (which may have come
out TODAY in the States). Apparently I gave the impression to Mark
Semich that Gladstone "insist[ed] that Goofy be redrawn from a 1937
Goofy (as he was originally drawn in the story) to a 1951 Goofy (a la
Murry)". In fact, I was saying this about DISNEY! It was the DISNEY
STUDIO that insisted this be done. John Clark would have rather left
the story as it was! >Phew< Cleared that up, I hope.
Fans of Bolivar who appreciate tried and true will notice that
this story gives HDL a new dog, named Humphrey. Block explained to
me that he was stuck -- Bolivar wasn't right in the role this dog
needed to play. My own guess is that a dog with BRAINS was needed...
Bolivar only thinks when it's time to find a meal! Pat Block has
assured me that Bolivar will appear in future stories.

you lick it, the faster it goes!"
