Icelandic translation?

I can only think of one icelandic word that comes close to that spelling.
Helsaerdur, which means lethally wounded (as you suggested).
The d is pronounced as th, so maybe this is the word.
The ending ..ur is skipped if it was about a female person.
In what context was it spoken?

It seems like my other message somehow got scrambled and appeared in 
somebody's else post. I was just saying that I was surprised about 
seeing Don in a Barks tv show.
