Dutch splash panels

Don asked about splash panels in Lo$ 8:

Here are some bad translations.
Mammoth panel:

"In the middle of the cave, Scrooge is face to face with a giant mammoth -
the ICE MONSTER! But the mammoth himself is literally nailed to the ground,
because not even a hair of this enormous animal is moving..."

Dawson panel:

"The gold fever, to which Dawson thanks its explosive growth, is demanding
its pay. A hard-working gold digger who walks here with his wel-earned
revenue in his pockets, is not sure of his life!"

So the captions actually add almost no extra information, but use a lot
of words.

But it could have been worse: the Dutch have been quite creative in filling
in these captions. I remember a Ducktales story, where Scrooge is chased
by some crooks. The opening text of the second part is something like:
"And then there was a chase that lasted at least three pages. Since
that would be very boring to show, we pick up the story when Scrooge
arrives at..."
