To DON ROSA:
Concerning the Bin's dimensions, we have two conflicting evidences:
1- the depth gauge is 100 feet high, hence the vault should measure
about 120 feet in height;
2- in the Bin there are 3 cubic acres of cash;
Of course, 3 cubic acres is not a real measure, but if it were, then
the Bin should be about 3 times as big: 360 feet.
One could think that 3 cubic acres were the total amount of Scrooge's
wealth, not necessarily stored in the vault, hadn't Scrooge himself
told us differently in several occasions.
You seem to have chosen the evidence of the depth gauge, ignoring the
other fact. Is it so? Or is there a way to respect both statements?
About the rooms the Bin may contain, I'd like to make a suggestion.
We all know that what Scrooge stores in his Bin is not mere money,
but memories.
What if he had designed in there sort of a scenography, portraying
the places he loved best, such as The Blackjack Ballroom, McDuck
Castle, and so on.
When he feels nostalgic, he could stroll along on a mining trolley.
It is not a Barksian fact, of course, but ...
Best wishes for your wonderful work!
