You're right. There is no evidence on that. But it is an unofficial Don Rosa 
fact. I like that fact, therefor I adopted it into my mind.

Don Rosa have said many things about his Duck Family tree (most of them I've 
read at www.duckhunt.de) and among other things he mentions that the father 
of HDL is the brother of Daisy. This explains how they got the "Duck" name.

As a Don Rosa fan, I think of most of the things he say - even those that 
are not published - as true (examples; the Ducks' years of birth, the HDL 
father = Daisy brother thing etc.). Of course there's exceptions, but this 
detail is not one of them.
