Hi everyone!
Odd Bjarne:
>>People die - but never in DD comics. (That'd be sad - but reality...)

The last pag of L&T 10 (Fergus' death) was most beautiful-- tactful,
elegant, and moving.
Actually, there are other references to death, even more terrible: suicides.
I know two.
First, there are Mickey's attempts to commit suicide for about a week
of Gottfredson dailies (Oct 18, 20-24). The idea was Disney's.
I think I won't spoil anything by saying he never does succeed.
Then, at the end of "Dangerous Disguise" (DD FC 308, Jan '51),
Donaldo el Quacko prefers to jump out the window rather than take
the chance of being punished by his leader when he learns about his
failure: "Bruto will send me to the *salt mines*! Good-bye, cruel world!"
This time, the character does jump out the window-- through the window's
glass, even. True, you can imagine he lands safely. But why then didn't
Barks show or mention it? I think this is part of the "real world"-streak
of this comic.
Any other?
Olivier
