Lucky dime

I should have replied to this a long time ago. Now i can't find your 
original message. You wrote to this list about the term "lykketioring" 
that's being used for Scrooge's first dime in Norway (and maybe also in 
Denmark and Sweden). Initially you did not appreciate this term because it 
seemed to translate into "lucky dime" in English. But then somebody told 
you that "lykke" means happiness. Hence the meaning could be "happy dime" 
which you found to be OK. Well, sorry but this somebody must have been 
trying to please you here. Surely the word "lykke" can mean happiness when 
it stands alone. But combined with some kind of physical object like a 
"tioring" (dime) there is now way this can be interpreted as anything other 
than a good luck charm. The term probably stems from Barks, who to his own 
later displeasure, used the term lucky dime in a couple of occasions.
