About my (involuntary) Dutch contribution

Last monday I made a mistake by sending a Dutch private email to this
mailing list instead of the friend to whom it was intended.

This email contained my opinion on Dan Shane's email of 24 March 2001,
which I found insulting. Even more because I myself have received some 
condescending private emails from him in the last years, after I had
criticized Don Rosa on this mailing list.

So, I wanted to send a brief private message to a friend in which 
I expressed my feelings, while deciding whether or not I wanted to say
something about it in public as well. Unfortunately, I pushed the wrong
button and as a result this private email appeared on the list.

Since this misdirected email has caused some confusion, I've decided
to do an attempt in translating its Dutch contents to English: 

"Rosa virtually receives nothing else than praising on the DCML, but
as soon as there's one exception among it then Dan Shane thinks he
has to act as Rosa's bodyguard by talking to that person in a rude and 
humiliating way. Bah! Childish!" (Obviously, I would have used different
wording when expressing this opinion in a public email.) 

Then a copy followed of Dan Shane's email of 24 March 2001, containing
a comment on shift buttons and the request: "A friendly word to all
faithful list members.  Please do not feed the trolls." 

After (involuntary) sending this message to this list, I received a
private email from Don Rosa in which he showed me a translation, made
by one of Dan Shane's coworkers. 

That translation also made clear that the message was not about Don
Rosa himself (neither about that meeting), but about Dan Shane's email.
So, I really don't see why Don Rosa finds it nescessary to send me a
private email in which he misinterprets me, including an attempt to
personally insult me and a suggestion about how to apologize to 
Dan Shane. It's none of his business!

I've subscribed to this public mailing list to write about Disney comics
and artists with other people, but certainly not to receive condescending
private messages from Don Rosa and his friend Dan Shane, defending each
other. If they don't like my public contributions, they can say so in 
public.


My apologies to the friend to whom I directed that Dutch private email.
Also my apologies to this list for receiving a message which most people
couldn't read, especially to Dan Shane because he had to make an effort
in translating a foreign message containing his name.
