Hi Dim and Armando!

The Finnish version is the same. O'Hara says he wondered why Mickey knew
where the hall was. He also went to Mickey's house and found more knives
and a bag of tools for braking in.

>At the end of the story, the Blot declares: "Mickey and O'Hara had
>sent me to jail! So I thought to have Mickey kill O'Hara... he would have
>gotten the chair, and my revenge would have been complete!"

This is a bit different in the Finnish version. There was no death penalty
in Finland at that time (nor is now) so the punishment has been changed to
life sentence. It might also be that the change was made in the German
reprint so the Finnish translator didn't even know the original version.
Any German member willing to check that?
But I think that life sentence would have been a worse punishment for
Mickey as he had rotten away in prison never knowing that he actually did
the crime.

This is getting interesting! I think this is an excellent story except for
the part of Gladstone. It just doesn't fit into my head that he would be
such a criminal. Stealing from Scrooge like that. It seems that our tastes
in character handling don't quite meet. Doesn't it disturb you to see
captain Hook or mr. Smee if Snow White and other animation characters did
in "Paperin Fracasse"?

BTW. I reread Paperin Fracasse and I still like it a lot. But I also see
that if defined Snow White and the other animation characters by the
movies (I haven't actually seen Snow White or Pinocchio, I don't care much
for Disney's long animation) it would probably ruin the story. I just
watch Donald playing his role and enjoy.
