Why do you always see so few ducks in Duckburg?

Hi there William and all,

few ducks in Duckburg? 

Lemme see... 
(According to Don Rosa's Life-And-Times-Series):

When Scrooge arrives in Duckburg, I can see ONLY ducks. That is, Ma and Pa Duck and family. 
The first settlers to arrive after word is out that jobs will be available are ducks. 
The "others" came later, I'd guess. ;-))

(Then again, why is it CALLED Duckburg? Isn't the founder more of a goose than a duck? Could be dead wrong here, and I cannot look it up right now....)
