Tom Yakutis

The prolific and gifted Disney writer/artist Tom Yakutis passed away on 
Friday, January 25 at his home in Carpentiria, California. Tom wrote numerous 
stories for Disney Comics, as well as gags for the Scamp Comic Strip from 
1984 - 1989.

Tom started at Disney Studios in 1956 and worked for Larry Harmon, Art Scott, 
UPA, TV Spots, DePatie-Freleng, Hanna-Barbera, Filmation, Warner Bros., Marvel
and Universal, retiring in 1994. An Emmy Award winner, he was elected to 
several terms on the Executive Board of the Motion Picture Screen Cartoonists 
Union in Los Angeles in the 1960s and 1970s, and served as President of the 
Union from 1982 to 1983.
