Stranger Than Fiction

According to "The Carl Barks Library" (Volume X, p219) WDC 249 June 
1961 "Stranger Than Fiction" was edited down from 10 to 9 pages by Western 
Publishing.  Number 247, "Madcap Mariner" was the first edited down for the 
Dell Trading Post.  None of the succeeding WDC 10-pagers were cut.  Apparently, 
Barks' personal page cutting for Dell Trading Post was done only with Uncle 
Scrooge.  As to what happened to the missing panels: - No doubt they stayed 
with Western, and were thrown away during one of their purges of old artwork.  
Had they been rescued (as some Barks cut art has been), they might well have 
surfaced by now.  Rob
