Not only do the ducks not get much attention, but they are now beginning to
eliminate adults. I often liked to look at "Duck" shirts and clothing. The
stores have gone to mostly children's clothes with Tigger on them. I spoke
with a manager at the Mall of America Disney store and she told me she was
not happy with the situation either but that I should speak with their
marketing division who was making these decisions. They were also
eliminating higher end collectibles like Ron Lee figures. nice watches, and
Cells. It was turning into a child's clothing store. A BIG disappointment
for me. The Disney stores were my one access to licensed product since I am
so far from Disneyland/world.
As for comics in Disney stores, I am sure they see them as for adult
collectors, and do not fit into their current plan. I own a comic book store
so I am not worried about access for me. I do not have many younger readers
asking about Disney comics, only older readers. Young readers are playing
video games, not reading comics or much of anything.
