FW: Castor oil vs. cod liver oil

As a child growing up in Cuba in the 50's, I remember having on occasion to
drink cod liver oil (aceite the bacalao), but for the life of me I can't
remember why?  Maybe I've blocked it! Subconciously I associate it with
being sick, either stomach illness or not hungry or not eating enough, so I
was given that to make me hungry?!?
