Sounds like "Il segreto del totem decapitato" (The Secret of
the Beheaded Totem), originally published in 10 parts in Topolino
in 1973 (#906 - #916, they skipped #908)

Written by Guido Martina, different artists did the various
parts, G.B. Carpi, Massimo De Vita, Cavazzano and Scala
