Did Barks originate the lucky dime?

Yes, and also according to my email. :-) I asked something else.
What I mean is the *LUCK* that is attributed to the dime. 
Did Carl Barks originate that luck, or was it somebody else?

"From Dime to Dime" (D/D 2001-004). Scripted by Geoffrey Blum, based on 
a story idea by Barks. The idea is taken from an April 1991 letter from 
Barks to Don Rosa. Maybe Don Rosa based Blackheart Beagle's thoughts on 
that letter, too. I don't know.
