No, no. You're looking at it the wrong way.
Langtvekkistan is very hard to reach. There goes a plane only
from Sydney, every Thursday. But to get to Sydney from Duckburg,
you need to take a plane to Tokyo and then go to Buenos Aires,
Hawaii, and Amsterdam.
There are shorter routes to get to Sydney, of course. But this one
is the fastest, given you want to Langtvekkistan at that specific
moment in time.
There is a guy who updates the sign(s) continuously, depending on
how much distance one has to bridge to get to Langtvekkistan
*as fast as possible*.
This also explains why the distance on the sign varies from
story to story.
