Prof. Ludwig Von Drake

With all of the recent discussion about Barks's one use of Ludwig Von Drake,
I was just curious if Barks had ever commented on the character in an
interview.  Are any of you aware of any comments he made about the
character?

On a related matter, I was just curious if any of the other major Disney
comic artists had ever used the character.  I know Rosa used him in a cameo
in the Gyro pied piper story, but that's all that I am aware of.  Does the
character have any kind of international reputation?  I would LOVE to see a
Scarpa Von Drake!

Ludwig's one of my favorites.  In a way I would love to see him used more in
the comics, but I'm just not sure if he can be half as amusing without that
brilliant Paul Frees voice.  I forget who mentioned it, but I thoroughly
enjoyed the Ludwig shorts that Disney printed during their brief run of
comics too!  Still without that voice.  The funniest thing about the
character to me is his (seemingly ad-libbed by Paul Frees) digressions, and
I'm just not sure if that could work in a comic.  But I ramble, so I'll stop
now!
