I was in Scotland a few years ago and a company was selling paper copies of 
tartans.
They had one registered by Walt Disney from 1942
It was called the MacDuck Final Version, Corporate Tartan (Ancient Colours), 
worn by  Scrooge MacDuck, uncle to Donald Duck and great uncle to Huey, 
Dewey, and Louie.

I don't know if it is the same as the Hound's story tartan.
