R.I.P. Erika Fuchs

This is no official news as I type it, but it appears that Dr. Erika Fuchs,
the best-known and best-loved German translator of Disney comics (and
another personal fave of mine), passed away last Friday, one day before
Romano Scarpa, aged 98. Her idiosyncratic and very funny translations played
a rather big part in giving the work of, among others, Carl Barks its
everlasting popularity here in Germany. Her work can't be estimated highly
enough.

So far 2005 is not a good year for Disney comics.
