Yes he has, on several occasions. At least for Prince and the Pauper (half 
an hour Mickey Mouse [or so] special) from 1990. A very good short. For 
Aladdin he did character designs. And I think he worked for Dreamworks also 
for some time.

They desing the story as pictures, as some form of comic strip. Rough 
drawings. They are called as  storyboards.
