(My apologies, Richard: I replied directly to you rather than the list.)

I was just thinking of this yesterday. There's a series published
through Image Comics here in the USA called PvP (Player vs Player)
that uses the "rotated 90 degrees" format and has the books bound on
what would normally be the top (or bottom) of the page. (What I mean
is that our books are 10 1/8 by 13 1/4 inches when opened, while the
PvP books are more like 20 1/4 by 6 5/8. "Mickey Mouse in Color"
<http://www.diamondgalleries.com/item.asp?ItemNo=1748> used a similar
landscape format.) Judging from some of the Gladstone books (Comics &
Stories #605, 606 and 607 specifically) we could probably print three
dailies per page this way, which (assuming my math's correct) would
bring the page count to about 105 per year.

I'm not really in the "Gemstone publishing Gottfredson" loop, though,
so this is just my personal speculation and shouldn't be taken as
"official word" on such a project. All I can say is that I'm a Mickey
fan, and I would personally *love* to see Gottfredson's work made
available again.
