Disney 2D Features

In my humble opinion 2D animation has a direct charm that
computer-generated images can never match. Some of my
favorite Disney features are from the period when they
copied the animators' pencil drawings directly onto the
cells ("101 Dalmations", "The Sword in the Stone", "The
Jungle Book", "The Aristocats", "Bernhard and Bianca"). Why
do these movies look so lively and fresh? Because what you
see on the screen is exactly what the animators drew on
their sheets of paper, without any cleaning-up or
toning-down. The artists communicate directly with the
audience. And since these animators were all fantastic
artists, the result is ... well, watch any of these movies
again and see for yourself.
