Scrooge's pilot in DuckTales. Although he nearly always crashes his airplanes, he never seems to be injured. Launchpad has been used extensively in comics by William Van Horn. Launchpad's sidekick is Doofus, and he has sometimes helped with the Junior Woodchucks. Disney considered giving Launchpad his own series as a spin-off of the Ducktales episode "Double-O-Duck". Instead he took an important role as the title character's sidekick in the cartoon series Darkwing Duck.
