An animal heroine in the Disney universe is Lady, who gets first
billing ahead of the Tramp. You might expect there to be a lot
more, given the number of female animals prominent in children's
literature (Black Beauty, Charlotte's Web, etc.). Does Jessica
Rabbit count as a furry animal? :)
There has been a lot of talk in the comics world lately about why
Bugs Bunny dressed up like a female in so many cartoons...
In the comics world of furry annimals, but about as far from the
Disney universe as it's possible to get, perhaps the second most
popular furry (next to the male Cerebus) is the female Omaha,
the Cat Dancer.
