        Dear Folks,

Here's the first of several replies I'll be sending now that I have
the last few weeks' digests (AT LAST!) at my fingertips.

Well, it's like this. When Gladstone FIRST began publishing Disney
comics in 1986, they began printing the credits to Egmont stories. But
Egmont put a stop to that, saying that they had a policy of not printing
the names and wanted Gladstone to stick with it, with the exception of
covers.

So Branca was credited now and then -- his covers were the only
Danish ones Egmont used. (I've only seen ONE Vicar cover in all my years
of comic buying, anyway.)

But in a SINGLE comic -- the very first issue of Gladstone's UNCLE
SCROOGE -- complete credits appear. Esteban had something to do with one
of the stories in there, and his FULL name appeared in the credits.

Egmont sent word to Gladstone in early 1990 that they could print
credits now, but Gladstone had already ordered all the stories they needed
for a while -- and those had been supplied to them without credits. Thus,
Disney's comics were the first to regularly credit the Danes -- albeit not
always. (Earlier Egmont stories still tend to be sent out without
credits.)

        Hope this helps you, Harry.
