Donald Duck & Co #46
--------------------

Front cover: Donald at the dentist. HDL dressed as one dentist, with a
_huge_ drill (wonder why Donald needs to go to a dentist...)

Starts, as usual, with a Donald strip by Taliaferro,.

The lead story is a Dutch Donald Duck story (H8231, 10 pages)
(a true friend of animals).
HDL come home with a cat. This leads to some difficult situations
for Donald. Neighboor Jones is also featured. I'm not so sure I like it.
The theme is old, and has been done a lot better. The art isn't _too_
bad, but I've certainly seen better. The Dutch stories published in
Norway are usually a lot better than this one.
Didn't find this one in Harry's index. Could it be H82031?

Next is a Mickey Mouse story (D93226, 6 pages).
Mickey and Minnie are visiting an artist, who's making a portrait of
Minnie for her birthday. His atelier looks like a mess, and they think he's
been kidnapped. Minnie wants to solve the mystery alone, because Mickey's
too known. She's getting a surprise.
The story is good, and the art is good.

The third story is a Grandma Duck story (D9180 (yes, four digits), 5 pages).
It features Grandma, Gus Goose and Gus & Jaq. Grandma is going to
deliver a cake at a contest, but the car gets stuck in some mud. The mice
use a piece of wood as a raft, and transport the cake in a small river, to
the contest. They are attacked by a cat looking very much like a certain cat
from a certain movie. The cat falls into the river... (if you should ever see
anything like that, don't laugh. The cat will _never_ forgive you).
The story is a bit thin, but the art is good.

Then a Madam Mim story (D93218, 6 pages).
She's having an accident, and needs to repair her (that flying thing,
which most people use to clean floors). That will cost her a lot of money.
She wants to go to the future, to see which horses will win the rases, then
go back an put some money on them. Instead she goes backwards, and meets an
unfriendly wisard.
Not so bad. The art is good.

Then the final part of the continuation story which began last week
(D93326).
The story has some similarities to "Horsing around with history", but...
this one is better. The only problem with this story, which also was a
problem with Barks' story, and a lot of other continuation stories, is that
it's too short. There's a lot of potential in the story, but it ends up
in small glimpses of the situations.
One example: The discovery of a tomb which is believed to room a lot of
treasures. You know that Barks story where U$ and co. dig a pyramid out of
the desert. Well, the discovery of the pyramid is a central part of the
story. The exitement of the reader grows bigger and bigger, when the
pyramid grows bigger and bigger. In this story (D93326) the discovery of
the tomb takes place in _two_ panels!

Last is a one page gag with Donald (KF 9.9.45)

Overall, the issue is not outstanding, but not bad either.
