Hi everyone,
DANIEL:
Thanx for the "Unpublished Work of Carl Barks #1"-letter. I like
such information a lot. And as I read "#1", something tells me, that
there has to be a "#2". Can you send it to me?
Did you get all of this information from the CBL? It must have
cost you a lot of trouble translating it!
HARRY:
I've met your friend Daniel. Well, not really, but we're talking
a lot via email. He told me that you two are creating some kind of
computerprogram in which disney-stories are indexed. That's nice.
I downloaded all of your Disney-Comics-Database-Text-Files from the
FTP-site. They're great.
DON:
I think you're the best Duck-artist there is. I love your "Lo$".
Keep on the good work. And congratulations on winning the Eisner Award.
ALL:
I am currently collecting six bimonthly comics by Gladstone:
Walt Disney's Comics and Stories
Donald Duck
Donald Duck Adventures
Uncle Scrooge
Uncle Scrooge Adventures
Donald and Mickey
I'm a little behind in receiving the latest issues here in Holland, so
can someone tell me what's going on with Gladstone?
Last time, I got Donald Duck Adventures #34. It was printed on this
'recycled looking' paper (like DD&MM). Why is this? I haven't got any
new issues of the other four comics, but are they going to change too?
It's not only the paper that has changed. I also noticed that there
isn't a 'letters page' (like the MAIL BIN and the ADVENTURE'S LOG)
anymore. Also the price sunk from $1.95/$2.50 to $1.50/$2.10
Why are all these changes going on? And what about the other comics.
Are there any new comics being published by Gladstone?
What about this "Walt Disney Giant", that you're all talking about?
Is it a new serie, that is being published every 2 months?
I heard that it's not going very well with Gladstone, because Disney
comics aren't very popular in the States anymore. I don't know if this
is true, but does it have anything to do with all of the things
I mentioned here? I can't believe, that Disney comics are becoming less
and less popular in the States. I thought it was going very well with
Disney lately: Their feature films like Aladdin, Lion King and Pocahontas
are a huge success, Euro Disney made a profit of $35 million, and
now Disney even bought ABC for $19 billion.
I'm from Holland, you know. And I'm not quite aware of all these
things happening in the States (with Gladstone), so I hope someone can
tell me more about it.
