Old topics and greetings!

Dear all,

it seems that the cyberspace swallowed the message I sent you yesterday,
since it is not appeared yet. And since I foolishly did not made a backup
copy (as instead I usually do for all the mesages I send), I'll have to
write it again. Sigh!

Anyway, it is great to write again after so much time. I spent a lot of
time away from Pisa, and I had no time to read carefully the e-mail. I just
read all the last months of mails in the last days. As someone already
wrote, it was quite an experience.

Anyway, let's try to put my two cents worth.

Paul and Fredrick (if I remember right) wanted to know some information
about the Disney coins, given away as a gift in Disney publications or in
some similar fashion (like the lucky dime in Sweden). Actually, I have a
lot of information on this topic, and if you are still interested, tell me.
Btw, I think that usually the businness is silly (at least, it is silly to
pay huge amounts of money for a phony collectible like the super-extra
golden edition of the Lion King medal), but this kind of stuff is sort of
funny and (almost) inexpensive. On a related topic: could anyone find me a
$crooge bank? I'd really like to have one on my desk.

And about sending and receiving. Thanks, Harry, for the things you sent me.
I hope you also enjoyed the magazines and the Indexes I sent you.
Obviously, Don, I'm the one I sent you the IF magazines. Sadly (be the
Italian mail cursed) I haven't yet received the Gladstone album you signed
for me (yes, THAT one with also Barks' signature!). About that: dear ROC,
my friend and co-translator Mirko Tavosanis sent the packages to Don and
Harry, but forgot to send your, that has been sleeping in his desk for all
this time. It will be mailed tomorrow. A last thing for Ron: I received the
Barks'collectors, thank you. I do not know if you have finally received the
Topolino's: just in case, I bought a extra couple of the issues I sent you.
Tell me, and I'll send you those issues again.

Dear David, thank you for wondering about my missing. I'm still in good
shape, even if quite tired and soooooooo busy. To Dave: The interview on
Previews was quite nice, as the drawings of Chiaroscuro. I hope it is a
good maxi-serie: There are already a lot of stereotypes on Leonardo, and,
as any other people from Tuscany, I feel i little touchy on the argument.
Anyway, you are welcomed whenever you want to visit me in Tuscany (and
spend maybe some more time visiting Florence than talking with Becattini
and Boschi, as David did... :-)

Welcome aboard to Gianfranco. It was time that some other Italian arrived!
And welcome also to Janet (I really like Mr. Monster, too, btw. And the
interview on Scary monster -Monster International maybe?- was nice). I'm
sorry to write you back so late. Anyway, I can provide you any amount of
Topolino's you like! Those from the Eighties are quite chep, btw (less than
one dollar each), or I can trade with you those I have in double copy.
If you are really interested in your stories only, please let me know the
code, or at least a summary of them.

For Jorgen and Harry. Are you still intereted in more information about the
story coded I_1993? Let me know!

Btw, someone asked about the code AM. It simply means Arnoldo Mondadori
(the previous publisher of Topolino), and denotes a set of stories from
Sixties to Seventies (I do not remember why, or which ones. But I can
check, if you are interested).

Now, a last thing about my next trip to USA. I'll be in Northern America
from June, 10 to the end of July.As a start I'll be in S.Diego; after that
in Montreal and Halifax (Nova Scotia); then back to California, at
Stanford. I'd like to meet those of you from the list who live nearby.
Moreover, I'll surely be at the S.Diego con at the end of July. I hope to
meet all of you at the Disney panel. And about that: has someone idea where
to sleep cheaply in S.Diego, during the convention? Could you please help
me?

Well, that's all for now. I'll write back almost immediately :-) if Harry,
Fredrick, etc. are still interested in those old questions I mentioned.

See you,

Fabio
