You know in a similar vein I was surprised to see, on sale in Disney theme parks,
original artwork from the Donald Duck comic strip from the later years
autographed by Barks (presumably done during his visit a couple of years ago.)
I'm sure you all know that Barks did not do the artwork and even if you didn't
you would recognize it as someone else's art. I found this disturbing. It was
like both Barks and the original artist were being exploited. The caption
labeled the art as inspired by Barks, but I felt like this was an excuse to
combine original artwork and and an autograph to justify a high price. I
couldn't find the price for these items, but I still found the entire notion very
odd.
