	Hey Luca!

>And I see that Dave Gerstein is right. The whole production of Western,
>starting with Hannah-Barks' "DD Finds Pirate's Gold", has BLACK PETE
instead
>of PEG-LEG PETE.

	Actually, not the *whole* production.
Some of Western's earliest MM production, such as "Mickey's
Christmas Trees" from Firestone 1946, does use the name Pegleg Pete.

>Starting from the beginning, in "Steamboat Willie" (1928) he has no name

	>Gulp!< But that's not quite the beginning! In some 1927-28 Oswald
cartoons that came earlier, he is called Pegleg Pete, for example on a
wanted poster in OZZIE OF THE MOUNTED.

>And it really seems
>that in no movies there is the name "Black Pete".

In one cartoon, THE LONE CHIPMUNKS (with Chip 'n' Dale), Pete is
referred to as Black Pete by another character.

	Best,
	David
