Barks painted. His Disney oriented paintings were collected in 1981 into a
book called The Fine Art of Walt Disney's Donald Duck by Carl Barks. The
production of this book was the reason for the founding of Another Rainbow
by Bruce Hamilton and Russ Cochran. The success of this book resulted in
Another Rainbow initiating a series of lithographs of Barks' paintings and
The Carl Barks Library, and the success of these led to the establishment of
Gladstone Comics in the wake of Western Publishing retiring from the comics
biz.
